Also included the death of the butcher (not convinced) and no more DVD stores and village stores gone by 2018. Can’t really see the last one, in fact exactly the reverse as more people work from home or local social offices.

Today is Yorkshire day, a celebration to promote the historic county of Yorkshire.

The date alludes to the Battle of Minden and also the emancipation of slaves by William Wilberforce.

The Yorkshire flag was only approved a few days ago by the Chief Vexillologist of the UK Flag Registry after a long campaign.

Later we will be celebrating with a nice bit of Wensleydale, some Harrogate Toffee and perhaps a pint of Black Sheep or two.

With the Olympics just around the corner the BBC has enveiled it’s Monkey characters from the Gorillaz team. Not content with characters for TV and web you can also download the Monkey Air application for your desktop to follow the unfolding news.
I suspect Monkey will take on a whole new life this summer as the Olympics unfolds. The Opera finished at the Royal Opera House yesterday but hopefully will get some new dates soon, soundtrack and lots of content is already available.
